Align California (“Align,” “we,” or “us”) operates aligncalifornia.co, a directory connecting patients in California with physical therapists and chiropractors. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Who this applies to

This policy covers visitors to aligncalifornia.co, patients searching the directory, and providers or clinics that claim or manage a listing. Align is a directory and marketing platform. We are not your healthcare provider, and we do not store medical records, treatment notes, or clinical data.

Information we collect

  • All visitors: Standard analytics data, such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from an IP address, and device or browser type, through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. This data is used in aggregate to understand site usage.
  • Providers and clinics that claim a listing: Name, practice information, email address, phone number, and information supplied during claim verification. If you purchase a subscription, Stripe processes the payment; Align does not store your payment-card details.
  • Patients: Align does not require a patient account to search the directory. If you contact a provider using information listed on Align, that communication takes place directly with the provider, not through Align.

How we use information

  • Operate and improve directory search, filters, and provider profiles.
  • Communicate with claimed providers about their listing, account, and subscription.
  • Measure aggregate site usage and improve the product.
  • Share aggregate listing-visibility information with providers, such as profile-view counts, without identifying individual patients.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal information to third parties.
  • We do not store patient medical records, diagnoses, or treatment history.
  • We do not use patient identifiers in automated systems beyond anonymous session tracking.

Third-party services

Align uses Stripe for payments, Supabase for database and hosting services, Resend for email delivery, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for site analytics, and Notion for internal operations. Each service maintains its own privacy practices.

Your choices

  • Providers can request removal of a claimed listing by emailing joe@aligndirectory.com.
  • Unclaimed listings are assembled from publicly available sources, including state licensing boards, Google Places, and public practice websites. Providers can request a correction or removal by emailing joe@aligndirectory.com.
  • You can opt out of marketing email through the unsubscribe link in any such message.

Data security

We use industry-standard practices to protect information, including encryption during storage and transmission. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Align’s product changes. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date on this page.
